Scouting at home

While we’re not meeting face to face, we've put together some ideas to keep Scouting going at home. We’ll be sharing activities to help young people and their families take part in Scouts together, to keep learning skills.

Badges at home

In scouting there are lots of badges you can achive and you can continue working on these badges at home. There are many badges which are designed to be done individually and others can easily be adapted.

Your leaders have put together ideas of activities to complete these badges. You can find these on OSM Parent Portal under Badges. We've also put together a list of Cub badges avaliable on badges at home.

Plan your own adventure

If your staying put or getting away for a break this year, remember that Beavers, Cubs, Scouts can take part in a sleepover or camping experience at home, which counts towards the night away badges. This may be sleeping indoors in dens or out in the garden under canvas where possible.

We have also put together a self led Navigator Stage 1 and Navigator Stage 2 which you can do in Gunnersbury Park and Richmond Park or other park and open spaces. These are advalible on badges at home or ask your leader.

Let your leader know what you get up to, so we can award all the badges you'll earn!

The Great Indoors

While we normally love the great outdoors, the Scouts have pulled together some inspired indoor activity ideas to keep kids entertained while schools are closed due to coronavirus.

Keep your kids learning new skills and having fun (and avoid hearing ‘I’m bored’ every 30 seconds) all in #TheGreatIndoors.

There are over 300 more activities for you to do with your children over the coming weeks. Check them out here.

The Great Indoors Badge

The Great Indoors Badge is not just about learning new skills, this is about bringing out what is already inside you! The different stages allow you to share what you've learnt and find a way to support your community.

You can take part in one stage or all three of the stages, the choice is yours. There are nine activities in each stage and three stages in total, so that’s 27 activities you can get involved in.

On the Great Indoors Badge page we suggest activities to complete through your stages, however you can choose your own activity by clicking the links below. Remember to filter by your age group.

The Great Indoors Weekender

From graduations to trips with friends, young people have missed out on all kinds of things this year. Thats why in July we took part in the UK’s biggest digital summer camp from dens in our living rooms: The Great Indoors Weekender!

All the actvitives are still online so if you missed it or what to do some more actvities take a look at the programme.
